Medjugorje Prayer Group in Cardiff

Contact Name : Romilly Fenlon
E-Mail address : r.fenlon@ntlworld.com
Contact Telephone Number : 0292 046 0189
Group Leader : Michael Bamber
Frequency of Prayer Meeting : WEEKLY                             Time : 7:30 – 9:00 pm

"Our prayer group started around 2002 through our visits to Medjugorje.  As our prayer life has grown we have included the Divine Mercy and for a short period Anne from Ireland. Throughout this time we have always read Our Lady’s messages and said the Rosary.  It was a great delight to receive the Prayer cards from Medjugorje Calling and we now follow this framework.  As our meetings are held in a private house our numbers are limited to 10 people.  Fr. Michael Cronin has supported us throughout the years and occasionally visits us on our prayer night.  For the last 18 months we were very blessed to have Fr. John Bland I.C. in our group, but he has now been moved to Derryswood (Guildford).  He was a great help with our Bible readings.  About twice a year we have a House Mass for the group."

The Power of Praying the Rosary

"When you pray 'Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now...', the Blessed Mother comes
Instantly to your side to pray with you. And she does not come alone. She
Brings angels with her. And not just one or two for she is the Queen of Angels, so choirs of angels come with her. And she and Jesus are joined at the heart and cannot be separated so she brings Jesus with her. And Jesus Cannot be separated from the Trinity so He brings the Father and the Holy Spirit with Him. And where the Holy Trinity is, all of creation is, and you are surrounded by such beauty and light as you cannot imagine in this life. Your Mother comes as Our Lady of Grace with her hands outstretched. Rays of Light emit from her hands piercing your body, healing you and filling you with graces. This is your inheritance which was poured out from the heart of Jesus on the Cross, when the centurion pierced His Heart with the spear, Into the only pure vessel ready to receive such graces at that time, Your Mother. Now as you pray the Rosary, or even just recite one Hail Mary, you Receive your portion of these graces...."

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to join your pilgrimage.  I’d been to many pilgrimage, but this my first time to be here in Medjugorje that I can’t explained my feelings.  I know I got lots of blessings that I going to bring it to my place in Kent.  It’s so lovely from all religious activities down to the hotel, food … more power!  God bless you all!  I found my God again. This has been my first visit to Medjugorje, but I hope it will not be the last.  So many special moments : Vicka, Adoration and the Station of Cross Mountain to name just free Thank you for looking after all three of us. (Julie)

Medjugorje lifted me up spiritually.  Love to come back again.  The staff both the hotel and guide are very nice with us did a terrific job.  I thank the organiser too.  (Pilgrim)

Oh Lord to be held in Our Mother’s embrace – time is too short in this beautiful place, I don’t want to leave, haven’t had my fill – and need so much more of your infinite grace.  Thank you for another wonderful pilgrimage. (Anon)

My most moving experience of my week in Medjugorje, was my visit to Cenaculo to hear the testimonies of two young men.  Their conversion from drugs and video games addiction and even their struggle with the catholic faith was heart rending.  When their began to experience the peace and love of God they found real souls and gained holy confidence. (Anon)

This is my first trip to Medjugorje.  After a few days, I felt I hadn’t achieved anything due to not feeling any grand sensations or witnessing any miracles.  But towards the end of the pilgrimage, I began to realize that being around fellow Catholics, praying and talking, hearing different stories and experiences, I felt more enthusiastic and passionate about my faith, which were feelings I had lost some time ago.  I’m happy I came and look forward to going home and please God practicing my faith a lot better.  I would love to return to Medjugorje. New Prayer Group!

We are delighted that a new Medjugorje Prayer Group has started up at St. John's Cathedral in Portsmouth. Judy Pellatt is the group leader and this is what she emailed us recently:

"Yesterday was our third meeting. Attendance is low but its about quality not quantity. I leave it entirely in Our Mother's hands as to who and how many turn up. We have a nice little room in our Discovery Centre, a little table to stand the statue on and a chair to balance the Cd player on and my material. Yesterday we prayed the sorrowful mysteries. I used two CDs ( one is the CD you sent, and the other is misteri di Rosario) for music at the start and the end. When the music is playing, I can turn the light out, leaving just the statue with a candle burning in front of it. I used previous messages as meditations for the mysteries. If I say so myself, it was very prayerful. The statue which was blessed by Our Lady at Ivan's apparition has a sense of 'presence'."

If you live nearby and would like to attend this prayer group the details are as follows: Tuesdays 11am in the Discovery Centre which is attached to St. John's Cathedral, Bishop Crispian Way, Portsmouth.

Annual Meeting of the Medjugorje Calling Foundation

We just had our annual meeting today of trustees and management team and were delighted that Sister Immaculata and Sister Patricia could also be with us. It was a lovely get together and great to catch up as we don't get to see each other in one place too frequently. Thanks to all for making it a successful meeting. Thanks especially to the Sisters for their prayers and support - and for helping so much to entertain our youngest 'team member'.
